Czym jest metoda TPR?

TPR , czyli z angielskiego Total Physical Response to metoda nauki angielskiego i innych języków obcych opierająca się na reagowaniu całym ciałem na polecenia prowadzącego zajęcia. Celem tych zabiegów jest lepsze przyswajania nowego słownictwa czy struktur gramatycznych. Poprzez jednoczesne słuchanie poleceń i wykonywanie określonych czynności nauka staje się ciekawsza a zapamiętywanie trwalsze.

Dlaczego metoda TPR jest tak skuteczna?

Zastosowana podczas zajęć metoda TPR sprawia, że uczeń musi uważnie słuchać i obserwować nauczyciela. W przeciwnym razie nie usłyszy, lub nie zobaczy elementu, który musi zostać powtórzony bądź pokazany. To wzmaga uwagę oraz zaangażowanie w zajęcia. Dodatkowo uczeń często ma wskazać dany przedmiot, obiekt lub też wykonać jakiś ruch. Słuchanie, powtarzanie w połączeniu z odpowiednim gestem wspomaga proces zapamiętywania. Poza tym małe dzieci lepiej przyswajają dany materiał, jeśli mają możliwość ruchu. Całość natomiast ma charakter zabawy, to też uczeń nie nudzi się na zajęciach. 

Bardzo istotne znaczenie ma tu też rozumienie komunikatów przekazywanych w nauczanym języku. Poprzez odpowiednio dostosowany do poziomu materiał, który jest przekazywany jednocześnie werbalnie i gestem dziecko bez problemu rozumie polecenia. Dzięki temu zmniejsza się ogólny strach przed nauką nowego języka.

Wszystkie te elementy sprawiają, że opisana metoda z jednej strony jest bardzo skuteczna, a z drugiej, podoba się dzieciom, które chętnie angażują się w taką formę nauki.
